Bought my very first friend set today (built something special for you, /lg/) and got Andrea. she's... actually cute. and as soon as I'll have the right shirt I'll use her hair to make a Weird Al. So way more useful than I thought it would have been.
The set also was really nice, and a lot of the bigger, city like sets from friends look really cool. Same for Elves' dragons too.
So, i think minidolls aren't really fitting in the general LEGO universe and a girl-centric lego theme with normal figs like Paradisa would be mor eappreciated (by me) but the sets are actually pretty good. probably I'll buy more someday.
