I have two nephews from two different brothers who are too young for action figures right now, and I kind of want to introduce them to GI Joe when they're old enough but I don't know what staple characters will be available in a few years or if Hasbro will even still be making GI Joe by the time they're old enough. One of them will be turning 4 sooner than the other but they're close to the same age. I am thinking about stocking up on some classic Joe characters and putting them away as birthday and Christmas gifts for them for a couple years, but I'm not sure if that's something thoughtful to do or if I'm just being a cringe millennial pushing my childhood stuff on kids who should be figuring out what they like for themselves.
I guess the flipside is that if they end up having no interest in them I could just flip the remainder of whatever stockpile I have on eBay and likely recoup most of the cost a few years from now, but I want to hear some other opinions before I start stocking up. Especially since the Awe Striker might be going on preorder tomorrow, and if I'm getting Joe stuff for the nephews I'd probably end up buying three instead of one. It'll never be like when I was a kid with the 3/4 line and there were vehicles and playsets in every store, but I'd still like to pass on GI Joe to them when they're the right age to appreciate it.
