Due to the automatic transformation gimmick, the inside of the belt is already clogged with numerous motors, gears, and moving parts, but on top of that, the entire surface is lit up, making it a belt that is too clogged inside.
The image below shows the moving parts removed and only the light emitted. I think you can see just how vast the surface area is emitting light.
