>>8017119Times change, values change, audiences change. Transformers is no longer exclusively a thing for cis het boys anymore. There is also the fact that back in the day, if somebody wanted to complain about something they didn't like, what would they do exactly? Write a letter? Big deal. Now if people want to express themselves they can do it much more loudly online.
Here's the real deal and for all the soup brained incels and /pol/acks posting about trans this gender that, listen closely. It has nothing to do with any of that. The answer is much more simple:
People are often insecure about their bodies.
That's it. The design made some women feel insecure. That's it. And the people who felt insecure about it have an easy means nowadays to complain even though I doubt anybody is saying that the figure makes them feel insecure about their body. They are probably going to say it's "oversexualized".
Frankly, I'd like to see more body diverse female transformers. I like female transformers I think they are really cute and cool. Companies exist to make money though, so this figure was made to have the body that would have the most widespread appeal even though I'd like to see a slightly chubby girl transformer that probably would be seen as fetishistic or body positive depending on how it's presented and "clothed".
tl;dr Sometimes people feel sad that they don't look the way they want to look and that sadness comes out as anger over something they maybe shouldn't be angry at but it's ok if we all see each other as human and talk about it with each other.
