>>7248297Personally, I keep the vast majority of my RDs in their boxes and I haven't noticed any issues. All three of the Wing Gundams in
>>7249275 were pulled out of their box just now and there was no stickiness to 'em. In terms of whether or not paint helps seal in plasticizer, I'm not sure but I'd doubt it. I think plasticizer leakage is a fact of life for plastics (there was an anon in the last thread who said his Tallgeese got sticky), but I speculate that the type of plastic used for RDs at least helps to minimize it. I do think, however, that the plastic used for the "budget" RDs (the Pacific Rim RDs and I imagine the upcoming low-cost RDs will use the same) will be more susceptible to plasticizer leak issues. When I break out any of my Pacific Rim RDs after having them boxed for a while, they always stink, haha.
I actually had a pretty good comparison just now between Xi Gundam (the fully painted Heavy Marking ver.) and Xi's shoulder/back fins. Xi has been boxed up for the last year and a half or so, while his fins have been kept outside in an open storage tray because I couldn't figure out how to fold them to fit back into the packaging, haha.
Took Xi out just now and I noticed zero difference between Xi and his fins. And yeah, RD collecting can get out of control way too quickly!
