Can we all agree Lego should probably learn a thing or two from Playmobil when it comes to making a proper urban toyline? Our Danish fellas might have the coolest system in the world but the vast majority of City sets they've made since the theme became a thing are just vehicles rather than proper locations meant to be built into a city, and even when they make buildings, 90% of them are just first-responder headquarters geared towards playable action like firehouses and police stations rather than actual places where the average citizen would live and commute in. Contrast this with how Playmobil usually has their catalogue filled suburban houses, schools, supermarkets, small retail stores, parks, zoos and all these sorts of residential and commercial locations that actually feel like part of a city and you can probably see how Lego might not be offering their best possible selection here.
