>>7572085What I like about the plain black minifig heads was that with the helmet off they could double as a "dead trooper" look or a more comical "hey I can't see" sort of look. The plain black also meant you could go for cool cut-in visor effect on helmets like on the original lego boba fett. Other Imperial helmet molds like pic related alook much better with a plain black minifig head covering up the gap.
