The problem with Transformers crossovers up until this point is that they were focused on individual characters. The Star Wars figures were all giant mechs of the characters, same with the Marvel ones, whereas Ectotron is more a personification of the concept of Ghostbusters, it isn't a mechanical Peter Venkman.
It's the right idea, and I hope we get to see more from this line of thinking.
