The biggest obstacle is going to be applying even coats. Hopefully I can cut the rim and S pieces, paint them gold and candy apple red with some fancy japanese gundam paints, then glue them to his chest. It'll be a shelf toy and won't see heavy play so I'm not too worried about it getting worn off.
