Then I started running into the problem of too many colors, two purples and three grays along with two or three accent colors starts to get too much. So I reduced it to two grays (or rather, one gray and one almost-black), two purples, gold-plated joints and magenta accents, with the eyes and cameras still up for debate.
This one seems to work quite well, thanks for the suggestion. The colors aren't too busy and they blend well together.
