Just want to share some thoughts after using LDD for the first time recently after being a life long Lego hobbyist. tl;dr warning
I've been using LDD for about 3 days straight now and I'm finding it fairly addicting. It's way different than sitting at my bench and having to find parts and put them away as I go. In that way it's much faster and easier. You would think I would be able to make a model even faster. However, I'm running into some fairly unique issues I've never dealt with using real bricks.
I'm trying to build a new figure and it feels like I just can't get satisfied with any one part of it. With infinite bricks at my disposal I've been constantly tweaking and I cannot settle on one design. It feels like I'm mentally constipated because I have a fairly good idea of the sort of creature I want to make but its a real slog getting the results I want.
Secondly I've been making sections of the figure huge and intensly parts expensive without realizing it. I'm at a point where I have to refrain and scale sections down to the point where they are manageable for joints to support the figure.
Thirdly I've had no issues with needing to use illegal connections the program won't allow yet. I've seen so far it only lets certain pieces be stuck into a technic hole by one stud at a time.
Awesome program, no idea why it took me so long to try. I guess I'm slowing myself down by having too many ideas at once? I'm just excited to get this model done and order the parts
