Yeah I didn't care for the base mode either which is why I didn't bother to take pics of it.
Initially I thought I could skip it all together but turned out you had to get it into base mode first before you could make the legs out of them.

And despite being 1 head shorter he still feels big and what a Commander Class toy should be.This is much appreciated. The fact I can have him take up less space in his combined mode and still be stable is just great
