You're going to need to join the W Club if you want to order anything from IT's site in a timely and MSRP priced fashion. Unfortunately, the 2022 registration is closed, so you'll have to sign up on the google waiting list for 2023. Otherwise it's scalpers on eBay charging $300+ per doll. If you're lucky and/or patient, you can usually score a nude body and head for $75~$100. From there it's picking & choosing from broken up sets for the clothes and accessories. That's if you're not making your own clothes.
The quality of the dolls is a definite step above even the best of the collector barbies. However I have heard reports of neck joints breaking. Mostly from people popping the heads off. Be also aware that not all IT dolls have the same body type and height. Poppy Parker brand dolls are a lot shorter and have a bigger bottom than the other IT dolls. So take care when buying an outfit that's different from the doll's base line.
Honestly, IT dolls are very good in quality and looks. But with the cost, exclusivity, and snobbery that comes with IT collecting, it's just not worth the hassle. You'd be better off collecting BJD, Sideshow, or the vast array of 1/6 scale import dolls & figures rather than deal with the limited scope if IT.
