DP2 most are doubled from same molds, including the sheaths and holsters, they aren't mirrored. Doubling weapons or effect pieces is the usual move when they can't do much else, like with AK, Joker, or Bakugo. War Machine or Iron Man you can clearly see how they repeat parts. Carnage too. WM's miniguns are the same for either orientation because the little pod thing is a separate piece. All Might's effect ring is made up of the same piece repeated 3 times. Could've included a second set honestly.
The truly smart and effective ones are Iron Spider's legs and Batman's cape. The 4 massive legs only use 3 unique molds. The cape has mirrored parts, but each side only use 3 unique molds.
It takes some well calculated planing, and not all characters would have the need for repeated parts so that's also why you don't see others doing it. And they probably don't need to, AY is just trying to have an extra edge with little extra costs.
