>>7206647>>7206628>>7206612>>72066031. The common myth about boob plate not working can be traced back to one blacksmith hobbyist with no actual information. It originated with a goddamn kotaku article citing his blog and has been accepted as gospel since then by people who want to feign historical reasons behind disliking boob plate. You can see that people are still fucking doing it.
2. There are historical examples of literal boob plate armor, not to mention other varieties of non standard chest plates such as the famous Greek pecs and abs plate. Usually these were ceremonial not because of their lack of function but because of their extreme cost and craftsmanship.
3.The reason you see shit like Gambesons, surcoats, and standardized plate is because it was easiest to make. You can pound out a breastplate thats just a curve a hell of a lot easier than one with form fitting boob pickets. Lords had all sorts of fucking weird armor designs including erect cock codpieces and faces on their elbows. The only reason you don't see more boobplate is because there aren't exactly a lot of female lords running into battle. There weren't a lot of female ANYTHINGS running into battle.
To summarize: If you don't like boob plate just say you don't like it for aesthetic reasons or because you think it makes characters look like cheesy fodder for 14 year old boys. Personal preference is a completely acceptable reason not to like something, you don't have to try and make up some retarded "ITS NOT HISTORICALLY ACCURATE!" argument. ESPECIALLY when you're trying to argue the historical accuracy of a goddamn line of toys filled with skeletons, angels, orcs, goblins and elves.
