In 2008 when Indy had already lost relevancy, kids knew who he was but it wasn't like they were excited about a movie featuring a grumpy old man with a whip. The merch sold poorly. Hasbro learned nothing and they're trying to do it again but this time Indy is even less relevant and Jones is even older and grumpier. Today's kids have probably never heard of Indiana Jones, they're not going to get excited for the final movie in a franchise they don't know a damn thing about.
