>>11370016>I feel like they fucked up pairing the most popular ghost with Egon and not packing him with like, Winston. Why? It actually makes 100% sense that Egon would come with Boogeyman. I'm guessing you haven't watched the show in a long time, but often the episodes sort of revolve around one of the GB. There are two Boogeyman episodes in RGB, and Egon is the central character in both. I mean, in the first one when Boogeyman is terrorizing kids and the GBs show up, that's when we get the infamous and creepy "I...REMEMBER...YOOOOUU!" line from Boogeyman. Egon had an encounter with him as a kid, and that was actually what made him want to start researching the paranormal and become a ghostbuster anyway. At the end of the episode, they detonate their proton packs to seal off Boogeyman's realm from the real world.
In the second Boogeyman episode, they're fighting a random ghost on top of a building, and in the chaos, Egon gets knocked off and nearly falls to his death. He gets saved at the last minute by Winston, and Egon plays it off as no big deal. Its later pretty obvious that it rattled him quite a bit, and it is specifically Egon's growing fear that the Boogeyman senses that makes him strong enough to escape his sealed off realm.
It also makes most sense for Winston to come with Sandman, since in that episode, all the others are put to sleep, and Winston is the only one left. He hatches plan with Janine and Slimer, and it is the three of them who stop Sandman.
Ghash and Sam Hain could probably be swapped. It might make more sense for Ghash to come with Peter and Slimer, but I imagine since Sam Hain is debatably the most popular ghost from the show, they probably wanted him to be one of the first ones they released.
