I wish someone else could make the OP. Anyway I've been transforming my DC seekers since I'll be replacing them with SS86, and all of them had this issue where their shoulders (specifically the mushroom peg) became incredibly tight, almost like it stuck to the shoulder piece, to the point I'm pretty sure Starscream's is broken and his shoulder stays in place due to some pin. Was this some common issue with the earthrise seeker mold? If you have one please try moving their shoulders forward and back a bit and see if they're super tight.

Agree. I own the original and the chest thing bothers me to no end, but I also appreciate how they managed to rework the transformation to actually give articulation to the pants.

No, I liked the Legacy designs for characters like Bulkhead, Dreadwing and Knockout because they fit my G1 collection better, I've no interest in starting a separate Prime or Animated collection.
I hope mainline still puts out more hybrid designs like this.

All are good toys, but I didn't find them worth the money. Scorcher is also notable for having so many decals that it makes transformation a hassle, specially since they didn't add a clear coat.

Afterward I really felt some fomo to grab it for myself. However I am truly struggling to justify replacing my Earthrise with them. Their improvements are so incremental, especially for the price and then aim not even fully sold on their “tooner” aesthetic anyway. This is actually one of a few conundrums that pissed me off so bad I stopped buying these damn things for almost a year. Can the new one point its toes? Also, pretty sure Earthrise’s jet mode is far more realistic looking, no?

Not really, no. ER is like a mishmash of different jet designs with its vent thrusters and cockpit shape.
The studio series even with the toon look is a much closer depiction of the classic F15.

Anon that's the only reason anybody likes them . Except Starscream since he's the only one with a personality that anyone remembers. I know one of the two between Skywarp and Thundercracker hates war or something but can't remember which. The rest might as well be vehicons.

My lot came here from ebay. My holy grail was Icebird, and to a lesser extent g2 Laser Prime mold and Universe Cheetor. Its crazy they were all in one lot. Blackarachnia is cool too but I already had Crystal Widow and had no idea they were even different characters till now.

I'm kind if disappointed because the seller didnt have robot (or owl in Icebirds case) mode pics he was missing more parts and more warn out paint than I thought. Also Rail Racer guy has no robot mode head and Im wondering if I should message the seller but he was very honest about everything. if I ever get the other 2 for his combined mode it wont matter.

Grimlock. Damn, it is beautiful with all the paints. No paint QCs on my copy so thanks to whoever I should pray to. Though, the hip lateral movements are somewhat loose. They are only like half pinned from the back so are not as strong as they can be.
Another problem is that the symbol/heat sticker is on a curved surface and the corner does peel. I don't know if apply white glue help.

Green lio prime. I think I like this one better than the previous takara version. Almost no paint makes the figure a lot easier to play. As much TSpark charges for its premium stuff, the previous one still got some paint issues with the gold.
Though I don't what they can do with the difference in color with the material like the thighs

-Anyone know if there's a specific paint that matches the blue used on Big Convoy's chest?

To be fair, he looked a hell of a lot better when he was still intended to be Megatron. No idea why they decided to make him look like he was made of shrapnel after adding the other two heads - maybe because the model was already mostly finished by the time they changed their plans for Megs, and it was easier to paste shrapnel onto the body to mask the visibly Megatron parts rather than make a whole new model?

Takara never used the same plastic. They never used the same factory either. That was another reason you purchased the Takara version over the Hasbro because you could see and feel the difference in quality and Takara always fixed hasbros lazy jobs like Power Master Ginrai etc.

Since the forced unification Hasbro have raised 4 times now and switched to a cheaper factory twice (now using a bad one in Vietnam) and have used cheaper paints, plastics and materials to the point we now have figures that get discolouration after a few months or plastic that bends.

I think Hasbro deserves most shit that's thrown at them but I don't like how Takara gets scot free with everything. They've got an history of getting people to buy expensive decos for figures that they perfectly know will have complete new molds releasing very soon (most of the Dramatic Cap series, a lot of MP figures including the very first Optimus), and their designers are often to blame too for a lot of baffling mold engineering choices. And a lot of their own premium figures also came with widespread QC issues.

They unironically already tested this out two decades ago when the first live action movie came out. The first “game” tie in to the movie was an app that wasn’t actually a game at all. It was just digital action figures. You could rotate them and make them do a few different actions by pressing a button and that was it. It was actually pretty clever at the time. Kind of like NFTs way before that was a thing. Also they were free. They will absolutely do something like this again in the future and charge for it. I can tell you exactly how they will do it too..start by giving a digital copy of your figure with purchase. Then eventually they will make a digital exclusive character. Then they will eventually axe physical figures and you will buy a .stl file that prints out off your government approved printer. You need something to actually hold it down since wood glue isn't the strongest of adhesives when you first apply it and it takes a couple of days to properly cure, I recommend something like tamiya masking tape since it's meant to be peeled off

But I don't think they fixed the bigger flaw- the ridiculous wide legs/hip lateral gap.
They pulled the same shit with MPG 17 prime when friction joints should be more than enough for figure that is not even that big.

I rather sick of how they can't even prototyping MP figures right anymore and have to keep fixes what should have been worked out in the first place.

NTA, but I know what you mean. Completing Bruticus and the seeker trio were the two things I was looking forward to the most on the TF front for the rest of this year. Now it just feels like any enjoyment to be had from all these toys is tainted. I know they're going to put out another Starscream eventually (probably with coronation gear) and that I'll probably be over it in a day or two, but it still feels like a kick in the teeth tonight.

I got one in the mail the other day. As far as Hound goes, he seems alright. No special articulation or other goodies to speak of. I did notice that the blue painted surface of the windshield is a sperate piece, which is kind of neat. If you already have one of his mold mates, I wouldn't bother though. It's not impressive enough to own more than one variation.

We've gotten Skyfall which is the left leg but considering he is a repaint of Blast Off, that won't be the case and Breakaway which is the left arm but again considering he is a repaint of Air Raid, he will have to be a leg.

You can tell how unplanned a combined Nexus is and how Hasbro is taking the lazy route. There was never a frame originally planned, all the limbs will have inaccurate alt modes and have inaccurate placements in combined mode. Even funnier considering Mark posted pic related and Landquake won't even be a tank.

Thank God we don't have deal with all the store exclusives nonsense here.

But people are complaining about the price increases- though not as bad as in the US, as the starting price of deluxe transformers even back during the CW/ TR era was already like 20 USD equivalent when americans still get their deluxe for around 10 to 13. Having jump from 20 to 25 is very different from 15 to 25+.

I don't mind frames, I'd say they've worked for Menasor and Superion, Bruticus I would prefer without but I don't see how they will do frames once they get to combiners like Abominus. The biggest buzzkill here is obviously going to be the lack of any articulation in his legs. Even a waist swivel would have gone a long way to help some slashing poses. For the $20 I spent on this I definitely feel I got my moneys worth here. Even at the $60 msrp im looking at Titans much differently now.

Bruticus' legs are level with Superion so that's mostly just a Menasor problem. I imagine they'll take that it into account for future frames.

So if Hasbro does decide to make a frame for Nexus, how would they sell it (let's assume that it will be retail and not MTO)?

- Rerelease Nexus with a repainted Superion frame and sell it as a Commander?

All the limbs already have been leaked with their respective price points, so I highly doubt they'll change their releases and everyone who wants a combined Nexus already owns Nexus, would be incredibly stupid for Hasbro to do that. Worse they'll release it in a box set and say fuck you to everyone who already owns Nexus and the limbs.

Such an insane botched release for a character.
