Digimon are literally digital monsters from a virtual world, they can be whatever but Pokémon in theory should be a lot more naturalistic in terms of design as if these were the animals of this universe (and those which more closely resemble humans or are artificial exist in urban areas precisely because of human influence) instead of looking like bulbous plastic dolls
