>>41548930you also have to think about all the merchandising, anime shit, card game, etc that pokemon relies on. they can't really push all that back just because the games aren't up to par. the games need to be finished within a strict timeline i imagine, and game freak probably just can't keep up with the demand that a giant franchise like pokemon has. sword and shield aren't completely terrible like everyone was memeing about, it definitely has polish in certain areas but it was clearly rushed
