In the story, I think Cheren and Hilda had a FWB relationship but Cheren caught feelings, or something. It might have been with Hilda and another character, I don't remember.
Either way the idea kinda stuck with me, if you're like 16 and your only company is your electric dog and a ghost, and you meet up with another human who's also been socially isolated from travelling then a hookup would seem like a pretty natural thing to do. This is obviously assuming everyone isn't fucking their Pokemon, which is a whole different thing.
