But shortly after Ral my mareep evolved into a flaafy he was the first pokemon to just spontaneously hug me out of nowhere. Suddenly they weren't just cool monsters I wanted to collect, they were my COMPANIONS and I felt RESPONSIBLE for them and I pushed through the indigo league, kanto, and Mt. Silver because I wanted to make them proud.
I've still got my boy Ral on my ultra moon cartridge. I've thought about hyper training him and fixing his EVs up real nice but no, he's perfect just the way he is.
