Was anyone else a retarded kid like me where they didn't understand any of the type match-ups outside of fire/water/grass? The only reason I found out about typings outside of that was because of the anime when they put a big focus on Pikachu's match-ups. I only remembered electric match-ups because of it (Pikachu vs. Onix, Bellsprout, Pidgeotto). The anime made me think Thunderbolt was the best move in the game.
I NEVER memorized any of the more abstract ones such as Psychic beats Poison, Fighting beats Normal, Bug beats Psychic, Flying beats Fighting, etc.
