Confession time /vp/ros. Since the Isle of Armor released I've noticed that I've been posting and even visiting /vp/ less and less. I used to try to come up with my own ideas to improve mainline Pokemon, from QoL changes to new items and moves, but I recently realized there's no point to it. I just can't bring myself to care anymore, and I'm sad about that. I think Pokemon Unite, a Chinese MOBA that was hyped up for a week by TPC, is what really tipped me over. I'll be happy if Pokemon can bring it's charm back to the level of HeartGold/SoulSilver, but that seems less and less plausible by the year. Shitposters, bootlickers, and unironic fanboys with no standards will forever keep these games from trying to improve. I'll say it--there are SOME good things SwSh has brought to the table, but as a whole, it's a blatantly quarter-assed experience.
I just hate to see an old interest of mine waste potential like this and become so corporately cynical. This isn't the first time or even the last time. It's not even limited to games.
