Holy shit this bitch is actually harder than I thought.
Playing BW for the first time since release and this is the only gym leader I've struggled with since I was 14. I'm not a competitive player or anything, but I'm still smart enough to be able to beat gym leaders first try cause I'm not a child. Only other time I lost was once to Candice in platinum when snow cloak frosslass spamming blizzard in hail swept me, and even then if I simply taught one of my pokemon a weather move I would've won first try.
But this bitch it took me 5 fucking tries. My strategy was essentially lead with Cottonee and get priority stun spore/leech seed/attract, before switching into herdier and spamming crunch or take down, or switching into Yamask and spamming hex. Herdier had eviolite so it was super bulky, and Yamask had willow wisp if I needed it. Not a great strategy but with any other gym leader it's basically over kill cause they're easy as shit.
But I swear it's like her team was built to counter this exact strategy cause every time I switched out the ai KNEW to use pursuit, or any time I tried to rely on priority status she KNEW to use quick attack instead of arial ace. Didn't help that the paralysis RNG literally never kicked in for me (and static kicked in basically every time for her) but 25% isn't high and I wasn't relying on it. The thing that probably sets this battle apart tho is the fact that volt switch with 2 emolga essentially makes ground move unusable so i needed to rely on chipping her down with neutral attacks
Anyone else have these issues?
>inb4 git gud
Anyone can beat her if they just go get a Palpitoad, it's more a matter of her being way harder than anything else in game than her being genuinely challenging
