>>55155017Pretty much this, I came here to say that considering how shitty small Pokémon like Pikachu can contend with bigger, evolved ones....
Then even Agumon would be a fucking powerhouse in the Pokémon world, we don't even need Greymon to clear most of the dex. Adult Digimon like Greymon and Garurumon are actually fucking massive and enough to destroy a city , they feel more on par with the legendary dogs. Put in another way, mid-low tier legendaries from Pokémon display power more comparable to Champion Digimon.
Let's not forget mere Adult mons like Tyrannomon, Kuwagamon or Seadramon can destroy a city rampaging like Godzilla tanking bullets and cannonfire from tanks. Angemon VS Devimon was a champion level battle and I don't believe stuff like Alakazam and Machamp would be able to intervene at all.
But that's exactly because Gamefreak nerfs the powerlevels in anime/games to keep a semblance of balance and world cohesion.
Actually if we start including the manga, I remember Dragonite and Gyarados nuking cities with hyperbeam and that seems right, but the franchise as a whole doesn't want to depict trainers carrying around a team of 6 potential weapons of mass destruction.
Scaling them "realistically" (aka evolutions are a big boost and non-evolved shitters with low stats can't hope to beat a fully evolved Mon) then Pokémon would have a chance clashing with Digimon.
Something like Mega Alakazam should have powers rivaling what we saw in the first Mewtwo movie and just use his telekinesis on a whole city to throw buildings or instakill most enemies snapping necks.
Machoke alone has so much fucking strength his arms are tearing, Machamp should legit be so fucking strong in melee to compete in that Record of Ragnarok anime against deities of just grab someone with all 4 arms and throw them into the atmosphere.
Garchomp the ground shark should be so fast and strong with those claws I imagine him speeding around like he's a Demon-class OPM monster.
