These are easily the most half-assed nothing games you could put on the Switch. Even the fucking Undertale port will probably have more to offer than LGPE. Gamefreak doesn't even need to put in the effort of designing new mons anymore. They can make new Kanto phone game every now and then and milk that train until the end of time. Why even bother with content? Normalfags see Eevee and Pikachu and Kanto starters and Magikarp and Mewtwo and Pidgey and that's all that's even needed to sell.
I defended the last couple gens but it's finally over for real now.
