Something I realized is that I get bored of Pokemon games once they either allow for cross-generation trading or hacking becomes rampant. Examples include, when Custom GTS servers got popular in Gen 4, Pokegen got popular in Generation 5, Bank got released in Gen 6, Pkhex got ridiculous in ORAS, and when Home released in Gen 8.
Does anyone else have this same feel? I haven't touched the game since Home released because I don't want to cheat, and I got annoyed by everyone having Pokemon I don't (e.g. Gen 7 Legendaries - I don't own a Gen 7 game).
