>>45951860I agree that we really need more unique bugs being represented. There’s so many kinds of insects/arachnids/etc out there that are absolutely insane that could be amplified even further as a pokemon, and even some common bugs like scarabs, flies, and grasshoppers have totally been ignored in favor of repeats.
However I can’t say I don’t like what we did get. Centiskorch is fucking awesome and one of my favorite designs, I always thought scolipede being horse-like with 4 real legs kinda defeated the point of a centipede.
Ledian had its fans but honestly Orbeetle is just better and more interesting in my opinion and even has better stats. Snom of course is cute and put a bug pokemon in the spotlight for once, and Frosmoth, while disappointing in battle, has a really pretty design that I think is really underrated and deserves more love.
As for the UBS.. well, they’re aliens. They’re supposed to be strange, and plus Buzzwole is really enjoyable to watch I think.
And all of the regular sun and moon bug types were all so good too visually.. honestly if there’s one thing new pokemon designs don’t fuck up, its (at least the final stages) of bug types
