>>57422749>Ancient evolutionsToptier, one of the best concepts, activating dormant genes to obtain a prehistoric form, it's a shame they haven't exploited it more
>Electromagnetic field evolutionsIt was perfect for more inanimate or electric Pokemon, but they didn't use it enough
>Evolutions by exposure to a rock in a specific placeTerrible idea, it's good that they reconnected it with the use of simple evolutionary stones
>Evolution by exchange with an itemThey've been around since G2 and have always been a hit or miss, never a middle ground, a lot of people hate Magmortar and Electivire and although I accept that aesthetically they are a failure, lorewise they seem perfect to me for their role as minor villains or sub-bosses, the same for Rhyperior. Porygon-Z seems clever to me, but they should have added more impact like adding the Dark, Bug, or Poison type or having several movements that alter the stats of the opposing team or within the same game as a meta reference.
>Gender-specific evolutions with stoneInteresting concept, but they abandoned it too soon, it would have been interesting to use this with female Mime Jr, male Gothorita, female Machamp, and male Bunneary.
>OtherThe rest seems natural as part of the life cycle of those Pokemon.
The real question is, should there have been so many cross-generation evolutions in G4 or would you have preferred new Pokemon?
