One day, I was paired up with the popular students and being a outcast myself, I really wanted to impress them so I can be popular as well. They were trash talking my friend to me and like an idiot, I played along and trash talked what could've been a best friend behind his back. They laughed and seemed to be cool with me, however they'd ended up telling him what I said about him in secret later. That was the end of our friendship. In the end, I remained a loner while my the new student steadily became more popular throughtout the school year and even hanged out with the same kids that talked shit about him to me.
