Do you actually dislike the new gen 8 Pokemon designs or is it just getting shit on because of its association with other negatives of the game? Because I really love a lot of these designs, more so than any gen since 3 so the response I'm seeing to them feels so bizarre. There's a great mix of cute, intimidating, monstrous, pretty, etc. It's a really varied lineup.
