>>33859324Not him, but I'm not a fan of this gimmick because it's needlessly flashy and includes features that aren't really useful for gameplay.
For example, the joycons - why they have "HD rumble" or whatever? Why they exist in the first place? It just drives the price up, all that for something that probably won't feel good as a pro controller for the Wii U or hell, maybe even a classic controller for the Wii.
Speaking of those, why aren't the old controllers and the 3DS able to connect to the Switch? If they really cared about multiplayer surely they'd make it easier to use your old shit. Hell, the Wii had a few games where you could play with a GCN controllers, which allowed me to play some 4-player games such as Smash and Mario Kart.
Second, the dock itself. It's designed to make "le click XDDD" with the joycons - why not make it a simple base like the 3DS, with some ports to recharge your wireless controllers? And I keep seeing people scratching their screens due to it. Again, flashy for no reason.
As someone who bought every Nintendo handheld since the GBC, the Switch doesn't appeals to me at all. I don't need "le click", I don't need joycons, I don't need HD rumble.
Now, if it was something that was basically a VITA with a mini HDMI port to connect to my monitor, I'd be all over that shit. But as it stands, it feels like I'd pay 100$ for features that I have no interest into, to play 60$ games that aren't really designed for a portable.
It's something that few people talk about but portable games really need to be quick and satisfying to play in short bursts and I'm not seeing that yet on the Switch.
