>>31837371It's only bad if you copy paste Smogon sets without understanding the whats and whys. A reasonable-to-large amount of Smogon sets make meta calls; If you're not playing in Smogon's metas, you need to build in favor of your needs of the Pokemon.
For instance, any time Smogon recommends obtuse HP or Speed EVs, it's so the Pokemon can take otherwise problematic attacks or outspeed specific targets. You don't need such specific numbers if you're only playing the story or with friends, instead you'd want that Pokemon to be as reliable as possible.
