VGC doubles teams are built with synergy and that synergy can be for type boosting such as rain/sun, psyspam/grasspam/electricspam in terrains, or surf/discharge into volt/water absorb combos, but you don't want to give an opponent to gain an easy type advantage over your whole team, coverage is important too.
