...Actually, not that I think about it, while not "everything" was absolutely vital and important, I don't think there are actually any self-contained episodes in SM since everything, no matter how random or seemingly unimportant it was, ended up being brought back up again at some point or contributed to the characters' growth over the show. Especially for Ash at the end of the League when fighting Kukui and Tapo Koko.
Huh. I guess SM IS the outlier in this situation.
