Smogon is full of hypocrisy. They say they don't like complicated bans YET they are perfectly willing to say stupid shit like "only 1 Baton passer" or "no damp rock" or back in gen 5 it was "no drizzle + swift swim, just one or the other".
Start banning certain abilities from certain mons if they are too powerful. They already do complicated bans so just embrace it. But this is merely my opinion. I can understand not wanting to split hairs too much and bloat the ruleset (even though they are perfectly willing to bloat terminology like OU/BL, UU/BL2 etc)
Like I said, Hypocrisy.
