Yeah alright so, as you may have noticed, the entire market has been obliterated due to a duping bug. I've known about it since day 1 (not saying who i am though :^)) so for historical reasons I would like to explain how it works. In pic related, you can see a standard shop setup. In the stock half you've got one stone, meanwhile in the display half you've got a trade where you sell 2 stone for the cost of 1 stone. As far as I understand, the shopkeeper system doesn't *actually* pull directly from your stock to sell it to players, but rather it creates some of that item, gives it to the player and then deletes the stock item from the chest. So, when you have the shop set up this way, the game will spawn 2 stone for you before attempting to take away 2 stone from stock. You're currently in the process of giving it a stone, though, so the game thinks there's 2 stone to remove from stock and (for some fucking reason) lets the full transaction happen without actually taking away the stone you just gave it. Voila, you have bought 2 stone for the cost of 1, and are now a duping god. I don't know if that's exactly how it works, since I don't have access to the script, but that's my working theory.
In hindsight, I probably should have told the badmins about it but I didn't really consider it more than a curiosity at the time. In the event the jannies figure out who I am, I have not taught anyone else this exploit before the shopkeeper genocide, nor have I abused its power. Anyone who duped probably figured it out on their own since, in hindsight, it's pretty easy to figure out independently.
