GF are big boys and I can assure you they chose the Holidays themselves (literally every notable game that can get away with that release date does so if possible)

Nintendo is the company that delayed Animal Crossing (Despite the fact they make more money from each individual AC game sale than of Pokemon) from the holidays to a random day in March
Nintendo is the company that turned Sillicon Knight's Denmis Dyack' life into a nightmare so that Twin Snakes and Eternal Darkness released competently
Nintendo is not your friend, they ain't special, your savior or based or anything, but I can assure you that if they had control over GF's development stuff, Pokemon wouldn't be as shit as it is now
Reminder, the Reason Pokemon Battle Revolution was missing so much stuff was because they COULD rush Genius Sorority (who were under cobtract) but couldn't rush GF (who refuses help from the guys at Ninty ro this very day)
