>>36593146This is very early game, before you even get a Pokemon. I haven't put much thought in how I'm going to populate the maps, I've mostly been focusing on making a playspace first before worrying about flavor text. Here's a rough mockup of the first two towns, route 1, and some NPCs. The two blocking the route are going to disappear after you prove yourself to be "cool" enough (have a couple of badges) as a reward for coming back. The region will loop around in some points to make revisiting areas flow a bit better.
The first leader will also give you Rock Smash, which will be more or less required for the rest of the early game (TMs are infinite and it's 60 BP now to make it less painful).
>too many cut treesThere's two, both just hiding secret areas, with one more in the southern town that gives access to the cave(will probably have an NPC in there to give you an item or TM.)
