>>23465813The problem isn't going through a big change during evolution. The problem is the change in evolution failing to compliment the underlying concept of the pokemon or its line.
Take Greninja for example. I hated it at the start because i didn't liked that it went through a drastic transformation and dropped the bubbles for a tongue scarf. But given time i grew to realize that the change served the purpose of complimenting the concept it was trying to convey in a clever, original way. Later on i ended up loving it for the very same reason.
With Samurott the absolute opposite happened, i liked it, but the more i saw it, the more i realized it just didn't do a good job realizing its purpose.
There's nothing wrong with it going Quadrupedal, but they should've just dropped a concept that they weren't gonna be able to execute properly.
