Constant "best of" threads are ironically a symptom of a boards creative sterility. The same highlights get posted time after time by people trying to relive the best experiences because they can't create new ones. That, or some mediocre post created within a week of the "best of" thread gets posted because the classics have been overused at this point and a half-chuckle is better than nothing.
In a more general sense, this also applies to all threads themselves: as soon as someone comes up with a slightly original topic, copycats will proceed to post the exact same thread daily for weeks to come.
