The Viz Media box sets that have been coming out over the past couple of years actually increased the number of DVDs from 6 to 7 leading to a slightly higher quality image. The only minor difference I can find is that they restored a dub edit of the Sinnoh Now title in DP033 that according to Bulbapedia wasn't on the first DVDs.
