One of the big complaints I've seen about several existing Megas is "hurr durr just add spikes". I disagree with that assessment. Often, the spikes are implemented alongside heavy callbacks to an earlier stage, as with Tyranitar and Gengar. Even Mega Aerodactyl has an excuse: it actually looks like a Rock-type now instead of having to use the Fossil-type umbrella.
Unfortunately, several people tend to miss the point of pointy-ness, and we end up with tragedies like pic related.
