>>38367003Sounds nice. I remember my first time seeing it was similar. I was 7, playing through Ruby for the first time, under the sheets late at night. I actually missed spotting Absol my first pass through route 120, but of course, I had to return after hitting the Kecleon on the bridge. I was grinding my Shedinja up a few levels when Absol appeared and I thought the same as you did, that it was a roaming legendary, especially since it had Pressure. The way it looked, so sleek and kind of imposing but not in a way that was crude or obvious. It was like I'd been visited by an omen. I was definitely struck by Absol right away, but the pokedex entry for her sealed it for me. I'd always been really drawn to ominous things, black cats, crows, all sorts of stuff that were supposed to bring bad luck. So the idea of a pokemon that heralded disasters was right up my alley, and it still is.
>>38367049Glad you came around to the winning side. It actually took a while for the Mega to grow on me. At first I didn't really like it, since I was a little obsessed with hating deviantart and edgy furry stuff, and I lumped it along with its wings into that category right away. Then I got over the wings and I only really disliked the new horn, it just didn't seem as ominous as the normal one, like comparing a butterknife to a sickle. Now though I see how it's a more visible ying and yang symbol, paired with the longer hair. But I still don't usually Mega evolve it, haha. Call me spiteful.
