>>57505544Without the anime, May, Dawn and Serena would likely be much lower, considering May's bigger boobs and armourshipping were an anime-only feature. Despite this, there could be some factors which could still increase their popularity.
> Since May and Dawn appeared in some remakes, their popularity would be boosted (as seen with Akari, who on her own has already lots of content).> Serena could be more popular due to being the first blond FeMC as well as the first 3D one. There's a trend I noticed within the figures that the popularity of the characters increases the more recent their entry is. I believe the reasons for this are:
>Pokemon becoming more and more popular over the years, leading to more fans and thus more artists to draw lewds. Also, becoming more mainstream broadens the spectrum of artists who wouldn't have anything in common with the franchise.>Technological advancements of the handhelds and consoles, making the characters more present and their appearence in terms of design and sprites more feasible. Would explain why Kris is so low on the list, simply because her sprites don't really show that much, compared to Gen5's "shots". With 3D games introduced, the characters would become even more popular because you simply see more of them.>The evolution of the internet and social media, sparking interest and leading to much more popularity. With trends and memes having a chance of adding additional interest peaks.Other reasons could be romhacking and representation in other media (with Leaf in Super Smash Bros Ultimate).
What's interesting: Kris and Lyra were the only other FeMCs to have anime counterparts, yet they both take the lowest places in the rankings. Kris was featured in a movie-like anime special, Lyra appeared in multiple episodes. To be fair, compared with the amount of hundred episodes, that's not that much. Or, despite this representation, Johto FeMCs aren't that popular to begin with.
