>>36012499after the beta pokemon gold and silver octillery design i wouldn't be surprised they partly recycled the tank / weapon like concept for pineco's line since iirc that line wasn't present in the beta, basically octillery lost the armor and plates in the final release while a new forretress line was also added as some kind of turret tank that can selfdestruct and shot hazards and zap cannon too
those red soft cannons it has indeed remind me of octillery's cannon, beta octillery also was inspired by how octopi love small dark cavities
and are fished with pots, it had a pot like "shell", maybe even metallic who knows, now forretress design has it despite it looks more like a walnut
