If I didn't know better, I'd think that stall is something that the OU council pulled out of their ass just for the heck of it. You NEVER see stall in any official format, NEVER. Why? Because all of these threaten stall:
>Item clause>Lack of sleep clause>Baton Pass teams>Pretty much all powerful Megas (see: Kangaskhan, Gengar, Salamence, Lucario...)>Shadow Tag>Bunch of other stuffStall is the only playstyle that requires a bunch of fanmade clauses and bans just to be usable. It doesn't exist outside of Pokemon Showdown and thus shouldn't be considered as a "basic playstyle". When was the last time stall was actually viable under official rules? Gen III? Gen II? I will never understand why the OU council keeps doing so much shit just to keep stall on life support. It's not even entire Smogon, it's just OU. Pic related.
