So I don't mean to start a flame war or a gen war but;
>gen 6 introduces new features at the cost of old features
>best features of gen 6 are arguably an easy way around EV training and also mega-evolutions, one is just fixing a bad mechanic and the other is just a modification of strategy and gameplay
>controversial 3D which despite actually being fairly well done is possibly done at the expensive or diverted dev focus and still feels clunky in places like Lumiose city, roller skates arent toggle-able, etc.
>most people who aren't biased to gen 1 have gen 2, 3, or 5 as their favorite for variety of all very good reasons, gen 6 throws most of these features out the window to "go back to the basics" without realizing gen 2 was an improved gen 1, gen 3 was a counter gen 2, and gen 5 was a long term pokemon fan's wet dream
Why is this gen still getting so much hype nearly a year later? I really don't want to bash the series but I'm struggling to find any good reason why this gen is special in any way. To me at least, it seems more like a downgrade with a pretty skin.
