Maybe steam some contenders Pokeballs? Block off the important routes with natural obstacles like boulders or wild Pokemon instead of their really weak team? Maybe even just rig and gym challenge against YOU, the one person who's been giving their waifu shit for past week - supposedly make YOU their number #1 target?? I emphasize "You" because if they're not even a little threatening to you or the characters around you then they're not even an antagonistic force - not even in the funny "I pity you" type of antagonist Team Skull. They're just cardboard cutout of a somewhat good villain motive.
Speak of villain: My god does Piers not do ANYTHING about the situation. He's the whole reason Team Yell exists, the sole person who wants to make his little sister succeed in her dream, and despite of that he's does fuck-all to assert himself as any osrt of thing the player her to worry about, like, jesus christ. He dosen't even get mentioned until you reach Spikemuth! By the time you actually reach him he's like, "Oh, yeah, I'm the gym leader... That's about it. Let's fight..."
>>44793399I know, I know, I'll get to Indian asshat in a bit and how he probably the biggest sign that this game was rushed to meet christmass. And I get it, It's a fucking Pokemon game, we don't play these things for the plot, but at least - at LEAST I'd like to care about the story being told. At LEAST give me a hook and make me ask "What will the villain gonna do that's gonna really shake up the plot?"
It like the story wanted to go somewhere but everything got scrambled during production because the move to Switch was such a sudden shift for GF.
